ISSUE: Unable to publish categories in Grid

This Help Desk article assists with customers unable to publish changes to the Grid plugin settings. Most commonly with this issue, customers are able to select categories under Appearance > Customize > EmPress Grid, but the Publish button in the Customizer is not active/won't change color, so the selections cannot be published.

Here's how to address this issue:


TROUBLESHOOT: IS YOUR PLUGIN UP TO DATE? 

With ongoing changes to the WordPress platform, EmPress has released periodic updates for the Grid plugin to ensure it remains compatible with the latest version of WordPress. If you purchased the Grid plugin some time ago, please make sure you are running the latest version of the plugin.


TROUBLESHOOT: ARE YOU LETTING THE CUSTOMIZER LOAD COMPLETELY BEFORE MAKING YOUR SELECTION?

The Grid plugin includes a script that controls the ability to select your categories. You must wait for the Customizer page to fully load before you select a category, otherwise the script that runs this functionality won't have fully loaded, and the Customizer does not register that you've made a selection (hence, it thinks there's nothing to save). 

Try exiting the Customizer and accessing it again, or refreshing your Customizer page. Then, be sure the Customizer fully loads (i.e., the load progress wheel in your browser tab shows the page has fully loaded). Once loaded, proceed with making your category selection.
