I see elements from my old theme on my new theme. What should I do?

If you have activated your new EmPress theme, it should be the only theme appearing on your site. With this in mind, it is possible that you have plugins, old widgets, or menus integrated into your new theme that give the appearance of elements from the old. Here are a few things to try:

1. First, check if you have any plugins running that are specifically built for your old theme. You can check this by going to Plugins > Installed Plugins. Deactivate any plugins that are clearly associated with your old theme. If you’re not sure what a plugin does, leave it alone for now. Always deactivate plugins before deleting. That way, if you need it, you can simply reactivate it.

2. If deactivating plugins specifically for your old theme does not help, go to Appearance > Customize. Work your way from top to bottom through the Customizer, and note any widgets or menus or other pieces that look like they are from your old theme. You can edit these pieces directly in the Customizer, which will likely mitigate some of the problems.
