Hayes: Hide post subtitles on Home Page and/or Archives

The Hayes theme allows users to add a subtitle to posts, which appears on the Grid feed layout of the Home Page, the Grid feed for native theme archival pages, as well as single post pages.

  • You can add a Grid feed layout to your Home Page by going to Appearance > Customize > Blog Feed Options, and selecting "Grid Feed" for Post Feeds 1, 2, or 3.
  • To apply the Grid feed layout to archival pages, go to Appearance > Customize > Blog Feed Options > Blog Archive Options, then check off "Grid Feed."
  • Note: the Grid feed layout for the Home Page and archival pages is not the same thing as the layout applied with the Grid plugin!
  • For more details on the subtitle, including where it appears within the theme and how to add yours, read this Help Desk article.

HOW TO HIDE THE SUBTITLE

Some users may wish to use the subtitle, but not have it display in one of these places. The Code Hacks below allow you to hide the subtitle either on the Home Page, or on the Grid feed archival layout.
