Hayes: Change colors of Home Page Featured Post area

Use the Code Hacks below if you wish to adjust ONLY the colors of the leading Home Page featured post, without it impacting the colors of other widget areas.

MORE BACKGROUND

The Hayes theme includes color controls that allow you to change the background and button colors of the Home Page featured post. However, by default, the controls that adjust the colors of this section are also tied to the colors of the interstitial content blocks (spaced between post feeds), as well as some other widget areas. This is done to provide a seamless looking design and color application for customers who don't want to fuss with how and where to assign color to create a cohesive web design.

However, the Code Hacks below provide for greater control over the Featured Post area colors, should you wish for these colors to differ from the theme's universal color settings.

NOTE: If you wish to change the color of the Featured Post area's blog post title and title background bar, find these settings under Appearance > Customize > Color Options  > Post & Page Colors > Featured Post Detail Colors. The "Post Title Text" and "Post Title Text Background" settings will control these colors.
