Apply Classic Editor to Boutiques or Link in Profile Pages Only

If you've installed our Boutiques or Link in Profile plugins, you will need the Classic Editor plugin for both.

We require Classic Editor for these two plugins because WordPress does not yet offer capability to register custom blocks to specific page templates. (More on this here and here).

If you've installed Classic Editor but don't want to use the Classic Editor layout to edit your other posts and pages, you can update settings in WordPress to toggle between the two display modes. Here's how:

TO SET A DEFAULT EDITOR

1. Navigate to Settings > Writing

2. Look for the Default editor for all users heading. Check off whether you prefer Classic or Block as your default editor.

3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and hit Save Changes.

TO SWITCH BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN CLASSIC AND BLOCK EDITORS ON POSTS AND PAGES

1. Navigate to Settings > Writing.

2. Look for Allow Users to Switch Editors, and set the option to YES.

3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and hit Save Changes.

4. With this setting now activated, you can toggle between post/page views in several areas.

  • If you navigate to the Posts or Pages screen, a notation will be listed behind each post/page name indicating whether it was built in Classic or Block editor. Hover over the title, and you can choose to open that post/page in the editor version of your choice. Here is how this screen looks:

  • If you are in Classic Editor mode and want to switch to Block, look for the Switch to Block Editor link on the post/page sidebar options:

  • If you are in Block Editor mode and wish to switch to Classic, look for the Options menu in the top right, click on it, then select Switch to Classic Editor. Here's a video showing you where this setting lives:
