ISSUE: Comments are not appearing

If your comments aren't showing, check these 3 things:

1. Under Settings > Discussion, make sure the option "Allow people to post comments on new articles" is checked.
2. On the same page, make sure the option "Automatically close comments on articles older than..." is NOT checked.
3. Under Posts, make sure the option "Allow Comments" is checked. This appears in the Quick Edit box, or in the Discussion settings box in the post editor.

If your comments are showing, but the form looks off or doesn't match the theme, you likely have Jetpack comments turned on, which replaces the default comment box. You can turn it off under Jetpack > Settings, then go to the Discussion tab, and turn off the option "Let visitors use a WordPress.com account to comment."
